When people go to a New Orleans wedding, they expect it to be a full experience. Bee and Lyd’s vibrant two bride wedding at Capulet New Orleans was full of life, and it shows in their wedding photos. These lively images portray the essence of a great New Orleans wedding – color, community, and a couple very much in love.
Bee and Lyd’s Colorful Details
People love New Orleans for its color. It makes sense that a New Orleans wedding would have colorful details! Bee and Lyd didn’t shy away from bold hues from their invitations to their accessories. The couple incorporated jewel-toned earrings that popped with their classically elegant dresses. The result was a festive, fun atmosphere that still felt in keeping with more elevated maximalist trends.
For their two bride wedding, Bee and Lyd invited eleven of their closest friends to be in their wedding party, and they used it as an opportunity to keep the warm color scheme going. The wedding party wore rich autumn hues. Standing on the balcony of the Air BnB, they looked like leaves about to shake free from their branch. The colors also stood out against the sky during the rooftop ceremony at dusk.
A Two Bride Wedding at Capulet
Bee and Lyd held their vibrant two bride wedding at Capulet in the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans. Capulet’s rooftop is a stunning place for ceremonies. Candles lit Bee and Lyd while they exchanged vows as night fell. Their angular arbor, draped with more red and gold florals, felt like part of the skyline behind them.
After the ceremony, Bee and Lyd had a second line – a favorite New Orleans tradition! They danced past colorful houses with lace parasols. Guests enjoyed immediately launching from the ceremony into the party! They kept the dancing going well into the night.
To make their two bride wedding at Capulet feel unique, Bee and Lyd added custom details to the reception space. This included a neon sign with their new last name. They really made the venue feel all their own.
Chosen Family
Chosen family was at the heart of Bee and Lyd’s two bride wedding. For starters, their wedding party consisted of people they’re both very close to. You could tell from their interactions that the couple made a conscious decision to surround themselves with people who love them enthusiastically!
In addition to the wedding part, Bee and Lyd invited chosen family to officiate their ceremony. Their two adopted guncles led a moving ceremony. The couple’s strong community speaks to what great people they are, and their wedding day was all the more magical for that.
Bee and Lyd’s community has been important to their whole relationship. Before they planned their two bride wedding, their friends helped them plan grand proposals. In June of 2020, Lyd worked with friends to surprise Bee with what she thought would be a picnic. Instead, a dozen friends and family members waited with colorful signs, confetti cannons, and champagne.
Little did Lyd know that Bee had been planning her own scheme to propose! At their third picnic, a private party at Rosie’s on the Roof, each piece of paper read “Will you marry me?” The ring was inside. Clearly, this couple adores each other. They even did an interview for an LGBTQ blog about their love story!
